Craft Room Tour!

I get many compliments on my craft room ALL THE TIME!!! So I thought I would share it with you (since it is finally clean)! Also, this may give you guys some ideas if you have a craft room too!

So as you walk in to the left of the door there are shelves made of those plastic gutters cut up. I hold ribbon and tulle in them for easy access and so I can see all of them! Below that is a basket where I keep all my vinyl for my circuit and scraps in the white bin!

Next I have a white rack that holds fabric, scrapbook paper, cricut cartridges, etc.

Then I have my laptop, printer and other craft junk on my desk ( which is made from our old laminate counter tops from our kitchen that we saved).

On the left wall I put up a bulletin board and my final product of my toilet paper roll art (I have a tutorial). I am soon putting up these cool 3-D butterflies on the wall!

Then I have shelves with bins to just hold all my craft supplies, and scrapbook paper.

After that I have a table made out of the same countertop as the desk, I keep all my sewing stuff there. My embroidery machine is to the left and my sewing machine is to the right!

The last main part of the room I have a wall mounted peg board to hold my heat gun, hot glue gun, dust pan, etc. then to the right I have my area that holds my cricut and cricut supplies down below. I got those cabinets and the counter top on Craig's list for super cheap!

Another decor item in my room is the word "crop" which is another word for scrapbook if you did not know that. I made those if you guys want to see a tutorial just leave a comment below!

And finally my light fixture. This part ties the whole artsiness of the room together! It is from lowes but they also sell it at ikea both for around $30!

That is my craft room please comment below if you have any more awesome ideas for me to try out and also you can give me your feed back!

Scarf Hanger

I love wearing scarves! They keep me super warm but also dress up an outfit! I have so many scarves that I have received throughout the holidays and my birthdays that I have about 19 scarves!
As you can see in the picture below, they tend to take up a lot of room in my closet!
So I found a great way to keep your scarves all in one place that does not take up nearly as much room (this is especially good for someone with a small closet, or a dorm room closet)!

So let's get started!

Supplies:
-plastic hanger
-shower rings
-electrical tape
-scissors

1. Lay your hanger out and find which way your rings lay best.
The pack came with 12 but 11 had the best fit!

2. I decided the process will go quicker if you have your electrical tape precut and ready to go! (mine are about 2 inch long strips)
3. After you have them as you like them you want to tape the top of the loop to the bottom of the hanger. Just keep wrapping the tape around the hanger until you get to the end.

4. After you have all of the top 6 finished you will want to reinforce them by taping the middle of them together for a tight firm hold!

5. Then I began on the bottom row. But for this row I had to tape 2 pieces around the rings on top!

6. Then I did the same as the first row and reinforced those ones.
7. (Optional) You can also spray paint the whole thing or wrap yarn around it if you want to make it all match and look really cute! But, mine is hanging in my closet and a lot of people won't see it so I didn't really bother.

After I finished the project I put my scarves on the hanger and that's it!

It looks so much better in my closet! And barely takes up any room!

How to make this craft inexpensive:
- hanger can be found around your house $0
- shower rings are from the dollar store $1
- electrical tape I found laying in one of my dad's tool drawers

Total cost: about $1, and this makes a huge difference in your closet!

Thanks so much! Please comment below on your thoughts, or leave a request!

Vanilla Sugar Scrub

Today I hung out with my fellow bloggers and we worked on some fun projects. I taught them to make sugar scrub. I made some sugar scrub for Christmas presents to give some of my friends that are not too close of friends but I thought it would be nice give them something! This project is easy and very in expensive! So let's get right into it!

Supplies:
-baby oil
-white sugar
-jars (to put your scrub in)
-food coloring (optional)
-spoon
-bowl
-vanilla scent

1. Put 1 1/4 cups of sugar in a bowl.
2. Add 1/4 cup of baby oil
3. Stir (if it is looking to sugary you can add more baby oil)

Pictures of my friends stirring

What your scrub should look like so far!

5. Next add a scent oil to make your scrub smell good! I just added a cap full!
6. Then if you wanted to add a fun color you can put food coloring in it! (only put around drops or the color may stain your body).
7. Mix the color until desired color.
8. Pour scrub into a jar you can keep in the shower or by the sink depending on if you wanted to use it on your hands or body!

This is the finished product!

This stuff works amazing! I use it in the shower on my arms and legs and it makes them really soft!

This project is very inexpensive especially to give as a gift!

- baby oil bottle: $1
- sugar: $2
- vanilla scent: $1
- containers: $0 I had them on hand
- food coloring: $0 most people have food coloring.

Total: around $4 to make around 4 of them so about $1 each!

I had such a fun day of making these with my friends! I hope you did too!

Savvy Savings Jar

Today I am going to show you how to make a Savvy Savings Jar.

One thing I have decided to do this year to save some cash is create a "Savvy Savings Jar". My goal each week is to take the change out of my wallet, car, and in my pockets and put it in this jar, throughout the year. As it builds up to the top each time I will get it cashed and put that away until the end of the year and just keep refilling the jar. My one rule is to not take money out of it. By the end of the year I will get all the money cashed and decide how to spend it!

Now on to the tutorial:

Supplies needed:
-jar
-chalkboard paint
-paintbrush
-painters tape
-chalk (to write on it for the final product)

1. Prep your jar by cleaning it and getting the surface ready to paint.

2. Put your painters tape around an area you would like to paint.

3. Paint your area inside where you taped and pull off the tape right after you painted it just to make sure that you clean up around the edges if it got a little messy.

4. Wait for it to dry and wait at least 24 hours before you write on it with chalk.

5. Add a little embellishment for some girly cuteness ( I added a ribbon!). Write something on your jar and start collecting your change!

And that is it!

To make this DIY in expensive:
- I waited for the jars to be 50% off at hobby lobby and got it for only $1.75.

- The chalk paint is originally $2.99 and you can always use your Hobby Lobby coupon to get it for almost half the price making it only like $1.50.

The whole project only cost me about $3.25!!!

Please comment below on what you think! And leave requests on projects you want to see!

Toilet Paper Roll Art

I recently found an idea on Pinterest to make Toilet Paper Roll Art! Right as I saw this I began telling my whole family to start saving the rolls. I couldn't wait to get started on this project!

For this project the supplies include:
-toilet paper rolls
-hot glue gun
-scissors
-ruler
-pen
-spray paint

I first began with my toilet paper rolls

Today I decided to only use 4 rolls (that is all I could find on short notice).

Then I flattened the roll down:

A roll of toilet paper is about 4 inches wide and we need to cut each piece 1/2 inch wide and we will have 8 pieces for each roll to use:

I had about 32 pieces with the 4 rolls

So this is where your hot glue gun comes in! I began making my own pattern and gluing the pieces together to make a 6 petal flower:

Then I just began adding on and gluing them together at their crease points!

Sorry the picture is blurry I had to hold everything and take the picture at the same time!

I just kept adding and adding the pieces to make my own pattern!

After I finished hot gluing it together I laid the project out on my painting tarp and spray painted it silver.

I'm not quite sure where I am going to be putting this project so I might be changing the color of it. But when I do figure it out I will post the final project!

You can do a lot of different designs if you just go to google and type in "toilet paper roll wall art".

Please feel free to comment, ask questions, give a request, anything!
